Messages

View SMS and MMS messages collected from a device. Filter conversations, read message details, and export when needed.

What you can do

  • Browse conversations by phone number or contact

  • Filter by flagged content (where available)

  • Read SMS and MMS with timestamps and basic metadata

  • Export messages for a date range

Requirements

  • The device must be enrolled and online. See Device Management.

  • Required permissions must be granted on the device for messages access.

Turn on messages collection on a device

The exact steps vary by platform, but generally:

Enable Messages on a device

  1. On the managed device, open the Aegio app and sign in with the enrolled account.

  2. Grant SMS/MMS permissions to Aegio when prompted.

  3. Keep the device connected to the internet so new messages can sync.

View conversations

Open and filter messages

  1. Select a device in the sidebar, then click Messages.

  2. Pick a conversation to view details. Use search or filters to narrow results. Toggle flagged only to see only those flagged by moderation filters.

  3. Individual messages and entire message threads can be deleted via context menus.

Privacy and data handling

  • Message content can be sensitive. Access is limited to authorized account members.

  • Retention follows your plan.

Troubleshooting

  • Missing conversations

    • The device may not have synced yet, or permissions are missing.

  • MMS content not visible

    • Some carriers or devices delay MMS parts. Try again later or ensure data connectivity.
